Better Way to Get the Right LP089WS1 (TL)(B1) 8.9 inch LCD Screen

Usually, compared with the laptop ac adapter, keyboard or battery, it is more difficult for us to select the exactly right laptop lcd screen for us, because the lcd screen has more complicated technical data and since it was put in the laptop, we are hard to get these data. So for anyone who wants to replace his own lcd screen, selecting the right lcd screen would be more important.

 

In this article, I would take my own experience of selecting the LP089WS1 (TL)(B1) 8.9 inch LCD Screen to show you the easy ways of getting the right lcd panel.

Before choosing the right LP089WS1 (TL)(B1) 8.9 inch LCD Screen, please according to your laptop in SIZE , in RESOLUTION and in BACKLIGHT TYPE.

Resolution Matters. NOTE: 8.9 inch Lcd screen resolution should not be upgraded or downgraded, otherwise LCD Cable & Inverter will be burnt.
It is better to buy the same LCD resolution as you have.
You can find the LCD resolution of your Laptop by the following way:
For Windows XP or older: go to Start -> Control Panel -> Display Properties
For Windows Vista: Right-Click on Desktop -> Graphics Properties

• Or you can use on-line check service, please note that the on-line tool tells your screen resolution and it only makes sense if you did not change factory default screen settings in Windows or Mac OS.
• Screen Size Measurement. Screen size is measured in inches diagonally from corner to corner as you can see in the picture below.
  TIPS:1 inch=2.54 cm.

 

• Backlight Type. Generally speaking, there are two types of backlight in the market, CCFL and LED backlight. CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) needs an inverter, but LED backlight needn't, which uses light-emitting diodes as a source of light.  Now the used most is CCFL backlight.  As we know that desktop has double or three backlights for the monitor brightness, but taking account of power issue, notebook screen brightness is reduced, so most of notebook screens only use Single backlight, especially in small size, and some use Dual backlight. 
  Single backlight,only one bulb with only one inverter connector in the screen, most used in the market.
  Dual backlight means: two bulbs in the screen with two inverter connectors, not so much used.
  LED backlight is a new type, used in some latest models. Led screen only has one socket to connect a video cable, no inverter cable. Usually, users can find the specifics in its laptop if using a LED screen.

 

NOTE:
There are mainly two types of LP089WS1 (TL)(B1) 8.9 inch LCD Screen on the market, Matte and Glossy screens.  In order to scatter reflected light on the LCD screen surface, there's a anti-glare finish on Matte screens. And Glossy screens remove the optical coating, increasing a highly reflective coating, which will effectively improve the performance of contrast and color. Glossy screen is better for graphics and video display than Matte one. Matte screens are beneficial to eyesight protection, especially work for a long time.

How do I know if my laptop screen is high definition?

It is a WXGA 1200x800 res. glossy screen...

Some laptops are marketed as "HD" screen while others are not...what technically separates an "HD" laptop from a non-HD laptop? (I know that one can view HD while the other can't...but technically, if you didn't know whether your screen was HD or not, how would you know?)
