Help me choose a low-end laptop - hardware
Let's take a concrete example of hardware features for a user with minimum need for a notebook so low profile and low cost (but decent quality).
1) The Ram will be chosen, as already mentioned in the second part of the compendium, according to the motherboard and what it supports. The price will depend on the same operating frequency ...
We already know that depending on the RAM will perform differently, DDR3, last appeared on the market, for example, are very expensive, for reasons of non-professional to stay in very good DDR2-800 is desirable (or if you want to spend a little bit less-DDR2 667), especially if we do not want to raise the price. 1GB of RAM is the minimum that I would advise.
2) Graphics card dedicated. Preferable to the video card shared, why it works so, so to speak, independent, does not go in practice to draw resources from the ram during operation, and this affects the performance in a positive and not insignificant. As price points there are different, those with minimal cost on the market have respectable performance, for example a video card of 128 MB NVIDIA provides us with excellent performance.
3) processor. 4) Motherboard. Debated extensively in the second part of this little compendium, must of course support the hardware of the points 1,2 and 3 above written.
5)Other features to be assessed, for example, will the presence of a card for wireless connection (now mandatory), USB 2.0 (but now the 1.1 does not make them even more), an optional high-speed transfer of incoming e-sata (more performance of USB).
Regarding all the other little things (unnecessary) as built-in webcam, fingerprint reader recognition of personal digital etc. personally I find them useless trinkets to raise the price of a laptop, and omit, but my assessment is questionable.
6) Aesthetics. Well at this point we can not be too picky, we know that there are well-kept notebook from the stylistic point of view, the price at that caso.subirà inevitably more expensive.
With an appropriate choice, according to the offerings of the superstores, taking care to inform themselves well on the hardware characteristics that we are going to buy, in some cases we find good opportunities at affordable prices, in my opinion with 300-350 euro you can have a notebook (low end), which features more than worthy, especially for the use that makes the average user.
