Where is the best store for the best deal to buy an average complete desktop system today?
The economy has driven down prices at all stores, and they are needing to really compete for the few dollars people can afford to spend. However, I prefer Fry's Electronics because they have wonderful sales all year long and knowledgeable sales people, plus a store repair shop to cover any needs you may have while under warranty and out of warranty. You can also phone for advice.
I don't like buying systems through the internet or phone where it has to be shipped because if anything goes wrong you have to package it up in the original boxes and ship it for repairs at your own cost. Buying at a local brick and mortar store allows for quick servicing at lessor price and inconvenience.
Fry's Electronics is worth driving a hour or hour and half. If you do not have one close, but one is within that distance it is worthwhile.
